One Craftsman, Start to Finish

The person who quotes your job is the person who does it.

No sales rep, no rotating crew, no subcontractor you've never met. I do large and small jobs across Chester County and the surrounding area — painting, patios, walls, drainage, planting and the repairs in between — and I stay on each one from the first walk-through to the final itemized invoice.

That's also why the details get done: fire caulk in the gaps nobody will see, decking left to dry fully before it's stained, pavers chosen by name and color rather than whatever's cheapest that week.

“I put emphasis on quality, not quantity.”

What I Do

Four trades, one set of hands.

Most homes need more than one kind of work. Painting, stonework, planting and repairs are all handled by the same person — so nothing falls between trades.

01

Painting & Finishes

Interior and exterior painting for new and historic homes — brush, roller or airless sprayer, with the primer, stain or clear coat each surface actually calls for.

  • Interior rooms, hallways, staircases & ceilings
  • Exterior siding, trim, windows, doors & gables
  • Deck staining, sanding & board replacement
  • Chimney & stucco repair and painting
  • Porches, rescreening & wrought-iron handrails

02

Hardscapes & Drainage

Paver patios, walkways, steps and retaining walls built with quality materials and exacting craftsmanship — plus grading and drains that move water away from your foundation.

  • Paver patios, walkways & step overlays
  • Retaining walls, large and small
  • Belgian block & paver edging
  • French drains, drainage pipe & regrading
  • Mortar repointing, concrete ramp & walkway repair

03

Landscaping & Beds

Annual care and garden makeovers that bring tired beds back to life — with custom pruning timed and shaped to each plant's natural growth habit.

  • Planting: flowers, trees & shrubs
  • Custom pruning & ornamental grasses
  • Mulching & seasonal bed maintenance
  • Bed renovation & rock gardens
  • Brush and small tree clearing

04

Home Repairs & Prep

The fixes that get put off: drywall, steps, handrails and seepage — plus deep pressure washing that cleans siding, concrete and wood or preps them for a new coating.

  • Drywall repair & installation, incl. fire-rated
  • Step, handrail & fascia repair
  • Bilco doors, mobile home supports & skirting
  • Basement waterproofing & floor epoxy
  • Pressure washing & surface prep

01 — Entrance & walkway overlay

A tired concrete entry, rebuilt in stone — without tearing it out.

The platform was enlarged by building a retaining wall around it and extending pavers out over the new edge. The walkway was widened and rerouted to give a more direct, better-looking path to the driveway.

02 — Bilevel paver patio

Two levels, real stone treads, and flower boxes wired for power.

An EP Henry patio built on two levels and joined by Devonstone stair treads. The flower boxes were built with electrical cable running through them so receptacles could be mounted right in the wall.

03 — Fire-rated garage ceiling

The part nobody sees is the part done most carefully.

A garage ceiling under a living room was fireproofed with fire-rated drywall. Every gap was sealed with fireproof caulk and foam to stop smoke from finding a path into the living space above.

How I Work

Straight answers on price and payment.

I'd rather tell you up front what to expect than surprise you at the end.

Safe digging, every time. Pennsylvania One Call (811) is notified before any excavation, and work follows local permits, fees and ordinances.

  1. 01

    A ballpark first

Before anyone invests more time, I give you a ballpark figure so you know whether the job fits your budget and expectations.

  2. 02

    A free, itemized estimate

Estimates are free, and invoices are itemized line by line — you see exactly what you're paying for.

  3. 03

    Design fees credited back

Projects that need real planning or designs may carry a modest fee, deducted from the job if you decide to go ahead.

  4. 04

    Fair, lawful deposits

Larger projects may need a deposit — never more than the one-third Pennsylvania allows. Often you simply pay for materials when they're delivered.

  5. 05

Time & materials, agreed up front

Some repairs can't be predicted until they're opened up. When that happens, we agree on a time-and-materials basis before work starts.

  6. 06

    Big jobs, broken into stages

Larger projects can be split into affordable phases you can manage over time, instead of one big bill.

Questions

Good to know before you call.

Who actually does the work?

I do. I'm the sole proprietor and the only employee of my business, so the person who walks your property and writes the estimate is the same person on the job every day.

Are estimates really free?

Yes. Estimates are free, and every invoice is itemized. For bigger projects that need drawings or detailed plans, there may be a modest design fee — and it's deducted from the job if you go ahead.

Are you a registered contractor?

Yes. I've been registered with the Pennsylvania Attorney General's office since July 2009 under Home Improvement Contractor Registration #PA 045291, and I follow the state's consumer-protection laws.

Do you take small jobs?

Yes — I do large and small jobs with the same focus on detail, from a single hallway or a stretch of handrail to a full patio and retaining wall.

How do deposits and payment work?

For larger projects I may ask for a deposit, never more than one-third of the job as Pennsylvania law sets. Usually I'll ask you to pay for materials when they're delivered, and some jobs can run on a schedule of draws.

What about permits and digging near utilities?

Work follows local ordinances, fees, permits and regulations. Before any excavation, Pennsylvania One Call (811) is notified — it's a mandatory safety step that prevents costly, dangerous utility strikes.

Is the work guaranteed?

Yes. I guarantee all of my work.
